House approves tougher bankruptcy measure

Representatives voted 315 to 113 to approve a measure that would make it harder for people to erase their debts in bankruptcy court. The legislation, which now faces a closely-divided Senate, would force a debtors into a Chapter 13 repayment plan if they have enough money to repay at least 25% of the debt over five years.
