Japan beefs up plan to improve English education

As many as 10,000 high school students will be sent abroad each year and 100 high schools are to provide advanced instruction in the language, per a new five-year plan unveiled by the Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Ministry. Skills training for teachers of English will be strengthened in the plan.
