Hospitals to work together on ICU infection control

Two safety initiatives spearheaded by the Johns Hopkins Quality and Safety Research Group will encourage hospitals to work together to reduce central-line infections. Jointly called "On the Cusp: Stop Bloodstream Infections in the ICU," the programs will involve 28 state hospital associations, foundations and patient-safety groups. The goal is to implement nationwide safety practices developed in Michigan hospitals.
