Health officials in Massachusetts are looking at the science behind bisphenol A as they consider whether to issue warnings about potential risks to women who are pregnant or have young children who use products containing the chemical. The American Chemistry Council released a statement that focused on the FDA's finding that BPA is safe and added that "similar conclusions recently have been reached by authorities in Europe and Japan."
