Michigan nurses rally for mandatory staffing bill

More than 700 sign-toting Michigan nurses rallied at the state Capitol this week to support health care reform and legislation setting minimum nurse staffing levels in state hospitals. RN Shawn Shuler of Kalamazoo said hospitals do not base staffing on patient acuity and patients are coming to the hospital a lot sicker than they were five or 10 years ago.
