Opinion: NBPTS sets high standard for teaching

President Barack Obama has pledged his support for quality teaching and high standards for educators, and a Louisiana teacher commends the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards for setting the bar high for teachers. He writes that Newsweek magazine has called the LSU Laboratory School a top high school in part because of its commitment to quality teaching and certification programs, such as National Board Certification.
