TSA: No plan to end cockpit gun program

The Transportation Security Administration is denying reports that the Obama administration is preparing to end the program that allows airline pilots to carry guns in the cockpit. "TSA continues to recruit and put new [federal flight deck officers] on planes, and we continue to train them and do recurring training," according to a spokesman. About 12,000 FFDOs already participate in the program, with up to 1,500 more receiving training each year.
