Alaska lawmakers to discuss natural-gas pipeline bills

Competing in-state natural-gas pipeline bills will be discussed by Alaska lawmakers this week. One measure, which involves the construction of a pipeline from the North Slope to south-central Alaska, will be tackled by the state House Finance Committee. Another bill, which calls for a line from the Cook Inlet to Fairbanks, will be taken up by the state Senate Resources Committee.
