Falling East Coast refining capacity is a concern, lawmakers say

Several lawmakers expressed concern about declining oil-refining capacity on the East Coast following decisions by Sunoco and ConocoPhillips to shut down refineries in the region. Sunoco plans to shutter another plant in Pennsylvania this year if it fails to find a buyer. U.S. dependence on gasoline and diesel fuel imports could grow even though the country is producing more domestic crude, the lawmakers said.
