Researchers use location-based games to gather data

Researchers at Northwestern University are using augmented reality games to get smartphone users to help them with research. The Crowd Soft Control games guide users to specific locations to snap pictures or gather other data that is sent to researchers through the game. Privacy is always a concern, but researchers write that "CSC adds no additional loss of privacy beyond that of existing location-based applications."
