Insurer renews CRC screening campaign

Health insurer Cigna again this year is urging Americans to get tested for colorectal cancer, sending members ages 50 to 64 information about tests including colonoscopy, and offering a free in-home screening kit. Data from last year's campaign showed nearly 31,000 members who received the information had a CRC screening, 48.8% of colonoscopies detected polyps that were removed and 1.2% of patients screened were diagnosed with colon cancer.
