Charlotte-Mecklenburg, N.C., schools have joined forces with the Arts & Science Council to reinstate arts field trips -- which were sacrificed amid budget cuts three years ago. To give the field trips additional impact, teachers are integrating the performances into lesson plans and teaching students about the choreographers, dancers and other performers before the field trip.
