Collaborative process expedites work on $2.8B highway project in Md.

The creation of an interagency work group and the use of "principal plus one" decision-making method are among the strategies used by the Maryland State Highway Administration to help expedite construction of the $2.8 billion Intercounty Connector project. The group regularly met to address and resolve agency issues and prevent excessive paperwork and project delays. The 18.8-mile highway project is on schedule for summer completion.
