Lidl chairman leaves after 23 years with the company

Germany-based discount supermarket chain Lidl announced the abrupt departure of Chairman Karl-Heinz Holland and buying and marketing head Dawid Jaschok on Thursday, citing "unbridgeable" differences with the company on future strategy. Holland spent 23 years at the company, the last five as chairman. The chain has expanded rapidly in recent years, and now has about 10,000 stores and 180,000 employees in Europe.
