VJB adds 21 acres with Wellington Vineyards acquisition

VJB Vineyards & Cellars has purchased Wellington Vineyards, acquiring 21 acres of vineyard, expanding its production facilities and adding a hospitality center. The vineyards include eight acres of alicante bouschet, carignan, grenache, syrah and zinfandel vines that are 85 to 117 years old, as well as 10 acres of chardonnay, marsanne, merlot and syrah vines. The Belmonte family, which owns VJB Vineyards, plan to use Wellington to focus on Bordeaux varieties.
