Texas Prepares For Textbook Debate

The state Board of Education tomorrow is expected to set the schedule for public input on new social studies and history textbooks. Advocacy groups have been reviewing drafts of proposed texts and lobbying publishers to incorporate changes favorable to certain causes. Texas is expected to buy about $570 million worth of textbooks this year, making it one of the largest markets in the U.S.
