Hearst spins off unit for digital development

Hearst Digital Media is a new unit from Hearst Magazines that will focus on managing the company's Web sites and online initiatives. The digital division will be charged with creating magazine-related video content, podcasts and mobile products, and will also work with iVillage, the current host of Hearst's women's titles, including Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Marie Claire and Redbook.
