United rechecks cockpit instruments, no serious safety issues found

United Airlines said it did not identify any serious immediate safety issues after rechecking the accuracy of cockpit instruments on seven of its Boeing 747s. A spokeswoman for the FAA noted that the retests at United are not related to its ongoing maintenance review of U.S. carriers.
