Asian regulators are expected to require SEFs and swaps clearing

Asian regulators are expected to align regulations for over-the-counter derivatives with counterparts in Europe and the U.S., experts said. They are likely to require swaps-execution facilities and clearing of OTC derivatives, to help prevent regulatory arbitrage and future crises. The changes would bolster electronic trading of nondeliverable forwards in Asia, insiders said.
