Nutrition experts link foods to pain relief

Nutrition experts say ingredients in some foods may help fight pain, including omega-3 fatty acids found in seafood that reduce inflammation associated with arthritis and fibromyalgia. Whole grains and whole fruits, with the skin, also have anti-inflammatory properties. Registered dietitian Susan Miller recommends eating more vegetables and fruits that are high in salicylic acid, which is the analgesic the body makes from aspirin.
