Md. school district takes steps to improve student safety

A Maryland school district has adopted recommendations for improving student safety drawn up by a parent and administrator committee. The new rules affect a range of areas, including homemade snacks and parent and sibling visitations. Officials say they will review the policies, which have drawn some criticism, during summer break.
