Braskem CEO: Ascent project in W.Va. could match Ethylene XXI in Mexico

Odebrehct and Braskem's planned Ascent project in West Virginia may match the scale of the Ethylene XXI project in Mexico, said Braskem CEO Carlos Fadigas. The Ethylene XXI project, scheduled for operation by 2015, is a joint venture of Braskem and Grupo Idesa. It has a cracker with an expected annual capacity of 1.05 million metric tons, along with 750,000 metric tons per year in high-density polyethylene capacity and 300,000 metric tons per year in low-density polyethylene capacity.
