ConAgra leverages insights for brand extensions

New products from ConAgra Foods capitalize on consumers' continuing interest in healthier products and expand on popular product lines. The company is introducing Italian-style tortas under the Bertolli brand following the success of its Marie Callender's and Banquet pot pies, which will be expanded to include a Salisbury steak deep-dish version. A new Pam cooking spray with coconut oil plays off continued interest in healthier alternatives, and ConAgra also is focusing on improving sales of Healthy Choice, Orville Redenbacher's and Chef Boyardee products by emphasizing price, packaging, placement and promotion.
