Inventor aims to keep produce fresher around the globe

Entrepreneur Kavita Shukla began working on the invention that would become FreshPaper while she was in middle school, after watching her grandmother in India combine herbs in a tea with anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. FreshPaper, sheets that go into the crisper drawer to extend the life of fresh produce, took off with Whole Foods shoppers and today, Shukla's company, Fenugreen, donates one pack for every one sold to people without refrigeration in developing countries and to food banks and pantries in the U.S.
