Program helps Chicago stores sell healthier foods

Provisions in the latest farm bill require convenience stores to meet "depth" requirements for stocking healthy foods to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The Muslim Run campaign by the Inner-City Muslim Action Network in Chicago is working with neighborhood stores in "food desert" areas, and has had success helping some of them stock and sell fresh produce.
