Study: Women do well in early-stage startup competitions

Only a small percentage of venture capital goes to women entrepreneurs, but a study from YouNoodle suggests women may have better luck when it comes to early-stage startup competitions and gain just as much support as men. That could be because, unlike raising VC money, these competitions are based purely on the strength of the idea. "That's very different than the standard investment pitch where you're typically introduced to someone, and it's about relationship and trust," said Torsten Kolind, YouNoodle's CEO.
