EMRs to help long-term heart disease study

The Fairbanks Institute, a new medical research institute in Indianapolis, says it plans to track patients' lifestyles and other factors over decades as part of a long-term study of heart disease and other illnesses. The program will be aided by the fact that Indianapolis is one of the few cities of its size to use electronic medical records.
