AGC: Building costs may begin rise again after slowdown

After a slowdown in the second half of 2006, building material costs may rise by as much as 6% to 8% by the end of the year, according to Kenneth Simonson, chief economist for the Associated General Contractors of America. Simonson says the industry may be entering an era of rising wage and salary costs due to higher demand for skilled workers, supervisors and managers.
