FDA chief says staffers free to speak out

FDA commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach told Congress agency staff members are free to express their views without fear of reprimand. Critics have charged the FDA pressures staffers not to go public with concerns about possible risks of drugs reviewed by the agency. Von Eschenbach said he "adamantly" supports staffers' legal rights.
