Dog racing may be out of tricks as tracks close

The American Greyhound Track Owners Association's annual convention in Las Vegas will focus on falling attendance at dog-racing tracks. Derby Lane opened in Florida in 1925, and dog racing soon followed in many other states. However, more than half of U.S. dog tracks have closed their doors in the past three decades.
