Newell VP: Pioneer brands help push things forward

To keep his 100-year-old company innovating, Newell Rubbermaid vice president Bert DuMars assigns specific brands to take the lead on cutting-edge projects. "When innovation opportunities arise we always look for one brand to be the pioneer," he says. That lets the company use that brand's successes to sell the whole company on the potential benefits of implementing a given idea, DuMars says.
