Retired educator continues push for more recess

A retired physical-education teacher in Tucson, Ariz., is lobbying lawmakers and school boards to require 30 minutes of daily recess in the state, which has no minimum requirement. Steve Gall was the driving force in the draft of legislation that would have created a recess standard, but that bill has failed to gain traction in the state legislature. Gall is now lobbying school boards to adopt the policy.
