What's in a label? Asperger's vs. autism

The American Psychiatric Association plans to scrap the Asperger's syndrome diagnosis, but the move could mask the differences between it and autism, writes Chris Woolston, who has a son who has Asperger's and another son who is autistic. Woolston says APA's plan to call Asperger's an "autism spectrum disorder" -- mostly because few experts can discern between the two -- will hinder treatment for some and erase a source of identity for others.
