Alaskans could turn to propane if utility raises electricity prices

Some residents in the Mat-Su Valley of Alaska are facing a sharp increase in their heating bills after the Matanuska Electric Association announced plans to end a program that lets participants charge thermal storage units cheaply during off-peak periods. Some residents are considering a switch to propane or heating oil.
