Twitter users can't hide their political bent, researchers say

Twitter users may reveal something about their political preferences by using the service, even if they avoid posting comments about political issues, researchers say. The accounts Twitter users choose to follow are enough to accurately predict that user's personal political preferences, researchers found. Scientists say the method works reliably only for individuals, rather than for branded Twitter accounts.
