EHRs could help predict drug effectiveness, boost adherence

The adoption of EHRs can help pharmaceutical firms and regulators better forecast the efficacy of new drugs, says Janet Woodcock, director of FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. Woodcock also said she hopes the increase in EHR use could assist patients in adhering to their treatment plans and help physicians prescribe appropriate drugs.
