Plastic surgeon warns buyers to beware

Lured by promises of low cost and a lack of information, many people have been injured or disfigured by salon operators and others offering cosmetic procedures, says plastic surgeon Jennifer Walden. Prospective patients should make themselves aware of "the three Ps: product, practitioner and place," Walden says. Products should be FDA-approved for the proposed purpose, practitioners should be board-certified and the place should be a medical office or medical facility, she says.
