Senate moves crowdfunding bill

Senators added two amendments designed to protect investors to the JOBS Act bill, which would loosen restrictions on how small companies raise capital. The amendments would require companies to provide tax returns or financial statements prior to the public offering, limit the amount individuals may invest and subject more companies to Securities and Exchange Commission oversight. The Senate expects to hold a final vote on the amendments and bill by the end of the week.
