White House reporter won’t take “no answer” for an answer

Washington Blade reporter Chris Johnson, who sits in on daily press briefings at the White House, has repeatedly asked about the status of President Barack Obama’s self-described evolution on marriage equality, but so far White Press Secretary Jay Carney has found a number of ways to say he has no new answers on the subject. “Our readers are eager to hear about the progress of President Obama's evolution on same-sex marriage because they want his support in their pursuit of the right to marry,” Johnson told Politico. One source recently told Johnson the president was edging closer to endorsing marriage equality ahead of the election, and Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren, in an exclusive interview, told Johnson she hopes Obama evolves faster on the issue.
