Heterosexual HCV transmission uncommon, study shows

Transmission of hepatitis C is uncommon among monogamous heterosexual couples, University of California, San Francisco, researchers said. "Our results provide a basis for specific counseling messages that clinicians can use with their patients" that couples in a monogamous heterosexual relationship do not have to alter sexual practices, researchers said.
