Unilever Canada to release trans fat-free margarines

Unilever Canada, maker of brands including I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and Blue Bonnet, announced it will remove trans-fatty acids from its margarine products within the next three months. Canadians are believed to be among the largest consumers of these acids, which can raise "bad" cholesterol levels. One analyst said the move is "very important," but explained that food companies have often changed their products to fit nutritional trends, only to see those trends change.
