General Mills' cereal shipments shrink

Battling private-label brands and some consumers' unwillingness to pay higher cereal prices, General Mills' cereal volume dipped 9% in the third quarter. The company said it expects private-label cereal manufacturers to increase their prices, and if they don't, branded cereal manufacturers may need to reconsider their prices.
