Cablevision's dream of DVR network dashed in court; appeal considered

Cablevision's plan of deploying a network-based DVR solution took a hit in federal court Thursday when the judge sided with TV networks and Hollywood studios that the proposal would violate copyright laws. "We are disappointed by the judge's decision and continue to believe that remote-storage DVRs are consistent with copyright law," Cablevision said in a statement.
