Titone could become Staten Island's first out elected official

New York Democrat Matthew Titone could become the first openly gay elected official from Staten Island if he wins a special election Tuesday to fill a vacant seat in the state Assembly. If elected, Titone, who is backed by the Empire State Pride Agenda, would be the Assembly's third out member.
