Research shows biological benefits of pacemaker to heart

U.S. researchers who implanted pacemakers in dogs with heart injuries found improvements in tissue levels and the activity of 17 proteins tied to cardiac health. The findings could help boost the use of pacemakers in combination with drugs to treat patients with congestive heart failure, the scientists said.
