2 major Canadian oil companies to merger

Petro-Canada and Suncor Energy announced an all-stock merger that will bring together two of Canada's biggest oil companies. The transaction, with Suncor taking over Petro-Canada, will result in a company that has a market capitalization of $43.3 billion. The oil producers have extensive experience in the technologically demanding process of extracting oil from northern Alberta's oil sands.
