Airlines, passengers face labor strife across Europe

The British Airways cabin crew members started striking last weekend and were scheduled to return to work early this week before resuming the strike Saturday. Meanwhile, several other airlines across Europe also were dealing with the threat of striking employees: TAP Portugal pilots are planning a five-day strike starting Friday; Alitalia crew members held a four-hour strike Monday, prompting the airline to cancel flights; Air France reported that it had averted a strike; and Lufthansa pilots plan to go on strike beginning April 13.
