Inspector's report casts doubt on SEC's effectiveness

H. David Kotz, inspector general for the Securities and Exchange Commission, released a report that casts further doubt on the ability of the agency to oversee and police Wall Street and public companies. Kotz scrutinized the SEC's decision-making in regard to launching investigations. "We agree with each of the report's recommendations, have already implemented several of them and expect to complete the process in June," said John Nester, an SEC spokesman.
