Instructors use program to help students improve reading

Intervention specialists in an Ohio school district say a program they began using in the fall has helped struggling elementary- and middle-school students read at a higher grade level within six months. Under the Language! program, students work on vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, spelling and phonics for 90 minutes a day, and teachers are able to track progress. The program's success is spurring school officials to consider expanding the program to high schools.
