Multi-purpose polymer fights biological, chemical threats simultaneously

The McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine has created a polyurethane fiber mesh that can fight against biological and chemical threats at the same time. The mesh, adaptable for use in coatings, liquid sprays, sponges and medicines, contains enzymes that help kill bacteria, viruses and spores, as well as chemicals that neutralize toxic threats.
